SAS Presents: VICTORY

My co-opt of the WWII V for Victory poster containing flags of the allied nations. The flags alternate between reinterpretations of old rave posters and my own work. Victory is found not in war, but in compassion, empathy, art, and solidarity. Without solidarity we lose our humanity.

It is ironic to look at the original Victory poster in consideration of what some of the nations featured are doing today. In my last SAS piece around 6 months ago I spoke about Palestine. Today nothing has changed. Empty ceasefire talks have led to more violence and the UK and US continue to fund an ongoing genocide in Gaza through the sale of weapons to Israel.

As @blindboyboatclub mentioned in his recent podcast ‘The boundaries between Protest and Art’, those in charge are trying to scare people away from using their democratic right to protest against injustice. Art and music have always been avenues for freedom of expression and political activism, and to pretend that this is a new concept because what contemporary artists are saying is not what they want to hear, is utterly ignorant.

Big up Kneecap and all those using their voices to elevate those that world governments are trying to silence. Free Palestine
